Deep Slumber

I woke up with a heavy heart today
Can someone put me back in slumber?

The weight of the unjust world
The stench of the polluted air
The stones which the poor hurled
The shields of the Kings who wouldn't care

The strong men kill as the votes sway
The weak ones run petrified
The innocence of children snatched away
The women stay objectified

The fox wrapped around your neck
The tiger lay flat on your floor
The mighty oak holds your deck
The sandalwood stands as your door

The rivers run deep, weep in silence
The fields lush green, lay charred
The tongues once pure, preach violence
The hearts not strong, stay scarred

Will we do something to save this world?
Or will we let it split asunder?
I woke up with a heavy heart today
Can someone one put me back in slumber?
